    MSSU Baseball finishes 2024 season

    Lions fall short in Central Regionals

    JOPLIN, Mo. - Missouri Southern Baseball enters Saturday looking to keep their season alive. Lions start the day off by facing Harding University in an elimination game.

    MSSU battled for a long 9 innings, but ultimately prevailed as Garrett Rice hit a go-ahead 3-run home run to give the Lions a 10-7 lead. The senior first baseman finished the game with two home runs and 7 RBI's. Southern capped off the game with a 10-7 victory.

    In Game 2, MSSU faces Arkansas-Monticello. The Lions would have to win two more games in order to move on to Super Regionals. Arkansas-Monticello jumped out to a 6-0 lead. Southern gets back in the game as Drew Davis hit a 3-run home run to make it a 6-4 game. The Boll Weevils don't look back an go on to a dominating victory. Arkansas-Monticello wins the game 11-4, with that loss the Lions season comes to an end.

    Missouri Southern Baseball wraps up the season with a 45-15 overall record.
