Roughriders put up a fight in Game 1 loss

GRAND JUNCTION, Co. -- The Crowder Roughriders are making their first appearance at the junior college world series for the first time since 2022. Crowder returns to Western Colorado by facing the Blinn Community College Buccaneers in the first round.

Crowder rallies back from a three-run deficient, but ultimately falls short losing the game 7-6.

"We didn't execute those pitches in the middle," said head coach Travis Lallemand, "that's where they separated themselves. But you know that's a great offense over there and we made some pitches to keep it respectable. Because they could've blown us out of the water there at the end."

Crowder goes to the elimination bracket and will play Tuesday morning against the loser of Southern Nevada/Florence-Darlington. Game is scheduled for 11:00 am CT.
