    MDC to host virtual program on local target practice opportunities

    (KOAM) - The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is offering a free virtual program titled “Where Can I? Target Practice” on Aug. 14 from noon to 12:30 p.m.

    The "Where Can I? Target Practice" program is a virtual session where participants can learn about local sites for practicing archery, shotgun, or rifle skills in preparation for hunting season.

    The program, organized by the MDC’s Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center in Joplin, is part of the center's ongoing “Where Can I?” series, which takes place on the second Wednesday of each month. The Aug. 14 session is open to participants of all ages, and those interested can register online at the provided link.

    During the program, MDC Office Supervisor Tim Smith will provide information about local facilities where hunters can practice their archery, shotgun, or rifle skills.

    The Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center, located at 201 W. Riviera Drive, offers various virtual and in-person programs. To stay updated on future events, individuals can sign up for text alerts or email bulletins by calling 417-629-3434.
