MDC Managed Waterfowl Reservations Open September 1

(KOAM) - The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is reminding hunters that the pre-season reservation period for managed waterfowl hunts opens on September 1 and runs through September 18, with results available on October 1.

Missouri residents, qualifying non-residents, students, and military personnel stationed in Missouri can apply online for specific hunting dates and locations.

The MDC offers managed waterfowl hunting across more than a dozen conservation areas focused on wetlands. Hunters without a reservation can still try for a spot by arriving at a managed area and waiting in the “poor line” for unclaimed spots.

This season, 50% of hunting positions will be allocated through online reservations, with half of these reserved pre-season and the other half during weekly in-season drawings. The remaining 50% will be available to those in the poor line.
