Jury says Guilty: Dawn Wynn Murder Trial in McDonald County

UPDATE: After 5 hours of deliberations the 12-person jury (5 women and 7 men) returned at 5:20 p.m. with Guilty on both charges: Murder in the first degree and Armed Criminal Action.
Wynn showed no emotion as the verdict was read. She was taken into custody, cuffed in the courtroom and led out.
Sentencing is set for October 7 at 9 a.m. which is cursory, the sentence is Life in Prison without possibility of Parole. However family will have time to express their thoughts in court at the sentencing.
PINEVILLE, Mo. (KOAM) — A jury finds Dawn Wynn guilty of first-degree murder and armed criminal action after five hours of deliberation.
There were five women and seven men on the jury. The verdict was unanimous.
Thursday was day three of the murder trial. The defense called called their witnesses on Thursday. The prosecution rested at the end of the day Wednesday.
One question circling about has been if the defendant would testify. It became known she declined to testify in an informal dialogue without the jury present. That dialogue was with counsel and the judge in open court.
Mrs Wynn stated verbally she declined to testify. The Judge reminded her it was her Constitutional right to testify in her defense or to remain silent. She stated she again she understood.
Wynn has been without emotion during our time observing her in court despite her oldest child, her daughter, being emotional on the stand Wednesday.
Mrs Wynn is charged First Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action in the shooting death of her husband, Harold Wynn, in November of 2021.
Shortly before noon closing arguments began. Then final instructions for jurors were given and the jury was escorted out about 12:20 p.m.
It is unknown how long the 12-person jury (5 women and 7 men) will take to return with a verdict. This is day 3 of what is expected to be the final day of the trial.
