NCCC board continues search for new member at August meeting

(KOAM) - The Neosho County Community College (NCCC) Board of Trustees is searching for a new member after Timothy Heenan, who was selected to fill a vacancy, withdrew his acceptance. The board has invited applications for the position.

At the August 14 meeting, the board approved salary raises for several staff members, including a $2,232 increase for the Director of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and standardized wages for custodians.

The board also approved salary increases for various staff members, including a $2,232 raise for the Director of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Sandy Haggard, and wage increases for employees in the TRiO grants program. Additionally, the board approved a standardized hourly wage of $15.80 for custodians to address salary inversion issues.

President Dr. Brian Inbody reported on a decrease in employee turnover and discussed future challenges, including a demographic decline in college-aged students and potential impacts of a new state tax plan.
