Lamar High School football 2024 season preview

LAMAR, Mo. -- Thunderstorms force the defending class 2 state champions to practice inside on Thursday morning. That didn't lessen Lamar's effort or attitude.

The Tigers enter 2024 needing to replace several starting positions on both sides of the ball. This was also the case entering the 2023 season, though.

Lamar's head coach is confident in his veteran players to step up as leaders.

"Leadership is not something that gets solved within the first weeks of fall camp," Tiger head coach Jared Beshore says. "We're trying to build leaders as we go throughout the season."

"We've got some seniors that are definitely capable of leading our team," Beshore continues. "So we're just looking to put more leadership roles on them and see where they can take this team."

Lamar begins the 2024 season with a road game at McDonald County.
