    Gordon Parks Museum awarded $16K Kansas Arts Commission grant

    FORT SCOTT, Kan. (KOAM) - The Gordon Parks Museum has been awarded $16,000 in grant funds from the Kansas Arts Commission (KAC) for General Operating Support.

    Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland announced that a total of $1,295,450 was distributed among 108 recipients in the latest round of KAC grant funding.

    These funds will support various cultural initiatives across the state, including museums, arts education, music, dance, visual arts, theater, creative writing, and more.

    Kirk Sharp, Executive Director of the Gordon Parks Museum, expressed gratitude for the grant.

    "We are very grateful and excited to be part of this Kansas Arts Commission grant," Sharp said. "This grant award will significantly help and support our museum's operating expenses for the upcoming year."

    Funding for the Kansas Arts Commission grants is provided by the Kansas Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
