    Joplin Police locate two shooting victims, two different locations early Sunday

    Two shooting victims, two locations, no arrests as Joplin Police continue to investigate

    UPDATE: Joplin Police tell us there are no arrests. The first shooting victim is still critical condition. They are asking the public for help.

    JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) — Early Sunday about  2 a.m. reports of a shooting near 9th and Grand Ave alerted Joplin E-911.

    Joplin Fire, Joplin Police and METS ambulance responded.

    On scene first responders arrived to a large party at a private residence and a GSW victim. Sgt Ketrina Jones tells KOAM’s Shannon Becker the male victim “ was transported to the hospital priority one ,” lights and sirens.

    A call went out to area agencies to assist Joplin Police with crowd control. We observed dozens of people on our arrival to the area and some supporting agencies.

    Yellow crime scene tape was then stretched along the perimeter of a residence on the NW corner. From the alley to the corner and then to the north edge of the property.

    SECOND SHOOTING VICTIM NOT FAR AWAY

    Less than an hour later about 2:40 a.m. while we were at 9th and Grand Ave some Joplin Police units sped off east along 9th St — lights and sirens.

    We learn from tipsters police and EMS had gathered less than a mile away behind the East 7th Neighborhood Market in the 800 block of S Massachusetts.

    We responded to a related call where another person had a gunshot wound, non-life-threatening.

    METS ambulance transported one adult male to an area hospital non-emergency.
