    Wild horse and burro adoption event in Girard

    GIRARD, Kan. (KOAM) - The Bureau of Land Management aims to find homes for 100 animals at a wild horse and burro adoption event in Girard.

    The Bureau is offering up to $1,000 to adopt an untrained animal. This incentive is available for every animal at the event.

    The public is invited to view and possibly adopt horses and burros that once roamed public lands in the West.

    Today and Tomorrow, August 24., the event will run from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Crawford County Fairgrounds until noon tomorrow.
