    Pitt State football previews its season opener against 3rd-ranked Ferris State

    PITTSBURG, KS. -- 6th-ranked Pittsburg State football hosts #3 Ferris State for its first game of the 2024 season on Saturday.

    "I love the atmosphere of night games, especially here in Pittsburg -- the atmosphere is always crazy," PSU running back Noah Hernandez says. "We're ready for a great atmosphere."

    "Obviously the challenge as a coach is to keep [the team] focused on the present, the moment, today," PSU head coach Tom Anthony says. "There's a lot of guys that played in that game [against Ferris State] two years ago that have been really motivated."

    Kickoff between the Gorillas and Bulldogs is scheduled for 7 PM on Saturday.
