    Osage Beach Police officer killed in the line of duty

    LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. (KOAM) — Osage Beach Police Dept confirm an Officer was killed in the line of duty early Saturday morning.

    “Our thoughts are with Osage Beach Police Dept. Please keep the officer and family in your prayers.”

    The officer died in a traffic crash during a police pursuit. Crash occurred just before 2 a.m. at State Road A and Toronto Springs Park Road. Missouri State Highway Patrol are investigating the circumstances and the crash scene.

    Chief Todd Davis of the Osage Beach Police Dept releases more details in a presser.

    The officer is identified as Phylicia Carson , 33. She has been employed with the department since June of 2023 and leaves behind a husband and six children. Her husband is Miller County Sheriff K9 Deputy Grant Carson .

    ”Early this morning Osage Beach Police Officer Phylicia Carson tragically lost her life in the line of duty. Phylicia was a loving mother and the wife of Miller County K9 Deputy Grant Carson. We ask that you keep the Carson Family and our brothers and sisters at the Osage Beach Police Department in your prayers during this most difficult time.” — Miller County Missouri Sheriff’s office

    The pursuit ended further down the road as the suspect fleeing crashed and Camden County Sheriff’s Deputies took them into custody.

    Lt Gov Mike Kehoe extends condolences in a statement:

    ”Today we mourn the loss of Osage Beach Police Officer, Phylicia Carson, who lost her life in the line of duty early this morning. Claudia and I extend our heartfelt condolences to Officer Carson’s husband, their six children, and her fellow officers. We must remember those in law enforcement who courageously serve their communities despite the threats they face. May Officer Carson never be forgotten.“
