    Pitt State football beats Ferris State 19-3

    The Gorilla defense leads the way for a top-10 victory over #3 Ferris State

    PITTSBURG, Kan. -- #6 Pittsburg State football takes down #3 Ferris State 19-3 in its 2024 season opener on Saturday night.

    The Gorilla defense leads the way, forcing four turnovers from the Bulldogs.

    PSU running back Cleo Chandler scores the lone touchdown of the night -- a 13-yard scamper in the 3rd quarter.

    Pitt State kicker Austin Schmitt goes 4-5 on field goal attempts. Ferris State blocked a 42-yard attempt in the 1st half. He connected from 33, 22, and two 26-yard attempts.

    The Gorillas will face MIAA foe Missouri Southern in their next contest -- Saturday, September 6th at Fred G. Hughes in Joplin, MO.
