    2024-09-06

JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) - About 4:15 p.m. Thursday reports of a single vehicle crash on North St. Louis near G Street alerted Joplin E-911.

Joplin Police, Joplin Fire Station No.3, and METS ambulance responded.

On arrival a white Corvette was in the east ditch of North St. Louis, facing the wrong way, and no driver could be found.

As we arrive on the scene of the crash we observe the vehicle with the right side tires broken and it was obvious the car had crashed onto the curb, Corvettes have almost no clearance.

Joplin Police Traffic Officer tells us the car crashed alone traveling northbound. Witnesses said they observed the male driver exit the car and then get a ride from a passing motorist. He was no where to be found.

The car is not stolen and the vanity tags are current.

Nixon's Towing removed the Corvette from the scene
