    Celebrate Prairie Day at George Washington Carver National Monument

    DIAMOND, Mo. (KOAM) - Today is the annual Prairie Day celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the George Washington Carver National Monument.

    This free event offers music, historic demonstrations, and educational exhibits for all ages.

    The music tent features Pickers Post, Abbey Waterworth & Josh Gilbert, and The Vogts Sisters throughout the day. At the 1881 Carver House, enjoy performances by Ann and Bill Riggs, the Holmes Brigade Shirkers, and Ozark fiddler Nathan McAlister.

    Hands-on activities include apple cider making, weaving, butter making, and candle dipping. Exhibits cover local history, Native American life, beekeeping, and prairie ecology.

    The event, co-sponsored by the Carver Birthplace Association, is held alongside Gem City Days in Diamond.
