JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) -- Joplin Schools announces the district CFO Shelly Toft is set to retire at the end of the 2024-2025 school year.

According to the district, Shelly Toft has worked at the school district since 2018 as a Director of Accounting until 2021, when she began serving as the Chief Financial Officer.

"During her entire career and throughout her time in Joplin Schools, Shelly Toft has been the consummate professional," noted Joplin Schools Superintendent Dr. Kerry Sachetta. "Shelly is very skilled in school finance and budget oversight, so she's been able to successfully put our district in very strong financial and budget positions. She has also worked hard to improve procurement and payroll processes. She's been an excellent team member and her contributions are valued by the administration and the Board of Education equally."

"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities I have been given over the past several years," said Toft. "The leadership team has provided mentorship and encouragement to me personally and extends this to all staff and the community. Joplin Schools works hard to ensure every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential."
