CARL JUNCTION, Mo. (KOAM) - Students at Carl Junction Primary K-1 School celebrate World Milk Day , which included getting to meet a real cow!

The event will focus on the importance of milk as part of a healthy diet and provide young learners with insights into how milk travels from the farm to their refrigerators.

The educational program will be led by a University of Missouri Extension Dairy Specialist, who will teach students about the Dairy Food Group and its role in nutrition.

As part of the festivities, students will have the unique opportunity to see a live milk cow on campus, helping them understand the process of milk production firsthand.

World School Milk Day is celebrated globally to promote the health benefits of milk and to educate children on the value of dairy in their daily diet. This hands-on experience will bring the farm-to-table concept to life for Carl Junction's youngest learners.
