JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) - Joplin Schools has announced that Dr. Jordan Dickey will transition to the position of Assistant Superintendent of Finance, assuming the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective July 1, 2025.

Dr. Dickey has been with Joplin Schools since July 2022, serving as Executive Director of Student Services.

Dr. Dickey began her career in education as a math teacher at Joplin’s South Middle School and later became the K-12 Principal of Bronaugh R-VII School District, where she also served as Superintendent starting in 2019. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Pittsburg State University, a Master’s degree from Missouri State University, a Specialist degree from Pittsburg State, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Arkansas, earned in May 2023.

"Dr. Dickey’s experience as Superintendent in the Bronaugh R-VII School District made her a valuable addition to Joplin Schools," said Joplin Schools Superintendent Dr. Kerry Sachetta. "Her work in managing state and federal budgets for Student Services has prepared her well for this new role."

Dr. Dickey will work alongside current CFO Shelly Toft in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition. She will also continue collaborating with Dr. Traci Pattison, Director of Student Services, to support the department through the transition period.

"Dr. Dickey has shown strong financial oversight in her current role," said Toft. "I am confident that she will continue to keep Joplin Schools on a path of fiscal responsibility."
