5th Annual Judo Tournament hosted in Joplin, MO

JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) - The 5th Annual Judo Tournament is set to kick off in Joplin, featuring intense competition among skilled martial artists from across the state. This year’s event will also host the highly anticipated annual Missouri Team Competition, where East and West teams will face off in an exciting display of judo prowess.

A new addition to this year’s tournament is the introduction of a $50 cash prize for the winner of each Open Division, provided there are at least four entrants per division.

The schedule for the day includes:

• Check-in/Weigh-in:
  8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. for Masters/Juniors
  8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. for Seniors
• Coach/Referee Meeting: 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
• Team Competition: 10:00 a.m.
• Masters/Teens Divisions: Begin after the team competition
• Junior Division: Follows the Masters Division, with potential combination depending on the size of the Masters category
• Senior Division: Will start after the Junior Division, but no earlier than 12:00 p.m.
