(KOAM) - The University of Missouri (Mizzou) has climbed to No. 4 in the U.S. News and World Report’s rankings for Best Value among flagship universities , up from No. 7 last year. This ranking evaluates both cost and quality of education, placing Mizzou as the top value university in the SEC, Big 10, Big 12, and PAC-12.

Mizzou also saw improvements in 16 of 18 evaluated areas, including retention and graduation rates. University President Mun Choi credited the rise to the efforts of faculty and staff, stating, "We’re not just moving forward; we’re blazing a trail."

The report reflects recent investments in faculty, leading to smaller class sizes and more interaction between students and professors. This fall, Mizzou welcomed nearly 6,000 freshmen, the largest incoming class in its history.

Mizzou has also earned recognition from other rankings, including Time magazine, Money magazine, and Washington Monthly, for its leadership preparation and impact on graduate success.

With over 95% of graduates securing employment or further education within six months, Vice Provost Jim Spain emphasized that Mizzou students are making the most of their opportunities both during and after college.
