(KOAM) - The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) has announced that Kristin Brummel, pharmacy manager at the Lee’s Summit West Hy-Vee Pharmacy, has been selected as Missouri’s 2024 Immunization Champion. The award, presented by the Association of Immunization Managers and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to promoting immunizations.

Brummel was chosen from a group of health professionals and advocates for her leadership in encouraging vaccinations and improving access at her pharmacy. With a 23-year career at Hy-Vee, Brummel has consistently advocated for routine vaccinations and streamlined the vaccination process for her patients. This fall, her team will offer drive-thru flu shots at the Lee's Summit West Hy-Vee on select days.

"Kristin’s dedication to immunizations is invaluable," said Lynelle Paro, DHSS Bureau of Immunizations Chief. "Her commitment to ensuring access and trust among patients is a model for others."
