Joplin Council Meeting covers school zones and speed limits

JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) -- The City of Joplin held a council meeting last night.

The council discussed a number of items including emergency ordinances to revise school zones, as well as school zone speed limits around a number of schools.

• 7 to 8am and 2:30 to 3:15pm Cecil Floyd, Dover, Eastmorland, Irving, Jefferson, Kelsey Norman, McKinley, Royal Heights, and Stapleton.
• 7:45 to 8:45am and 3:15 to 4pm North Middle and Joplin High
• 7:15 to 8:15am and 2:45 to 3:30pm St. Peter Middle

The council also discussed increasing the speed limit on 44th Street from Connecticut to Range Line from 35 to 45 MPH.
