Local art club creates pet portraits for shelter pets

JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) -- A local Art Club is taking a tour of the Joplin Humane Society.

According to the Art Club by Drake May, during the field trip, members will be able to participate in "Pet Portraits", which is part of a project from last week, where members created art work of the pets at the shelter. Members are asked to bring the art work to the shelter for future pet owners. Anyone is able to join the club and hang out with some of the furry animals.

The club says participants will receive a tour of the humane society and learn how they operate.
