15 indicted in federal drug-trafficking conspiracy

(KOAM) - Fifteen more defendants have been indicted in a federal drug-trafficking conspiracy after law enforcement seized 100 pounds of methamphetamine and a kilogram of fentanyl pills hidden in a vehicle transported from San Bernardino, CA, to Springfield, MO.

The defendants include Stevie Logan, Jr., Daron Kelly, Damion Williams, Necole Jennings, Osric Edwards, Shawn Morris, and Rikkita Tolbert from Parsons, KS; William McKinzie, Juston Crane, and Gary Watkins, Jr. from Joplin, MO; James Sharp from Seneca, MO; Jon Smith from El Dorado, KS; Christuffer Roeder from Independence, KS; William Troester, Jr. from Wichita, KS; and Kylei Sullivan from St. Paul, KS.

Initially indicted in February 2024, Dontrell and Dreshawn Powell, along with Willie Murry, Jr. and Mark Logan, also face charges.

The federal indictment alleges the defendants conspired to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl from January 2022 to April 2024. Fourteen defendants are also charged with money laundering, and several face charges related to firearms.

The investigation began with a January 2024 vehicle search in Oklahoma , leading to a controlled delivery in Springfield and arrests.
