Flags at half-staff on Oct. 11 to honor former KS House Speaker

(KOAM) - In July, Governor Laura Kelly issued Executive Order #20-30, directing that flags across the State of Kansas be flown at half-staff on all state buildings, grounds, and facilities from sunrise to sunset on Friday, October 11, 2024.

This gesture honors former Kansas Speaker of the House Marvin Williams Barkis, who passed away on July 19, 2024.

This message serves as a reminder for all affected state buildings, grounds, and facilities.
