Milton making landfall and some changes for us as well

I hope you have had a fantastic week so far and enjoying the great weather.  We do need rain and we will see higher chances just right around the corner.

Latest on Milton:

• Milton is making landfall this evening.
• Winds gusting in the 100-110 mph range right around the eye wall.
• Roughly 30 miles outside the wall will see winds in the 60-90 mph range
• Very heavy rains on the north side of the storm of over 10"

Next 24 hours:

• A very weak wave rolls through with some clouds and a random shower on the KS/OK side.

• Still temperatures well above normal.

• Upper 80s again Friday and into the lower 90s on Saturday which will push record highs.

Changes down the road:

• Big upper level wave rolls in the 2nd half of the weekend.
• You can see the dip across the Great Lakes.
• This will give us much cooler temps early next week.
• This part of the pattern will return and cause arctic blast of air twice this winter, so keep that in the back of your head.

• Highs only in the 60s on Monday.
• Finally much better rain chances by next weekend and another cold front.
