MDC reminds hunters, anglers to purchase required permits

(KOAM) - Before heading out for hunting or fishing in Missouri, the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is reminding residents to purchase the necessary permits for activities such as hunting deer, turkey, waterfowl, furbearers, and small game.

Permits can be purchased online, by phone, at MDC offices, or from over 1,000 vendors statewide. Hunters and anglers must carry their permit while in the field, either through the MO Hunting or MO Fishing mobile apps or with a printed copy.

“Hunting and fishing without a permit violates the Wildlife Code,” said MDC Captain Gerald Smith. The mobile app allows users to access their permits even without service and can also be used to notch deer or turkey permits after harvest.

For more information on hunting regulations, season dates, and permits, visit mdc.mo.gov .
