Brush fire spreads quickly igniting residence

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (KOAM) — Brush fire too close to a structure spread quickly and ignited a residence near NW 20th and Drexel on Monday afternoon.

“ The occupant reported that they had been burning brush when the fire spread through a ventilation hole into the home’s crawl space.”

According to a release they state the flames rapidly moved throughout the home, and by the time firefighters arrived, the fire had engulfed the majority of structure.

No injuries were reported to residents or firefighters.

The home suffered significant fire damage.

Fire officials remind there is no burning allowed currently, not even controlled burns, trash burn barrels or fire pits.
