OSCEOLA – A Kohler man and woman were injured Saturday afternoon when their motorcycle suffered a mechanical issue that caused them to crash into a guardrail on State 67 near Boy Scout Drive.
Neither the driver nor passenger was wearing a helmet, and both were thrown from the motorcycle during the crash, Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The driver, a 65-year-old Kohler man, suffered serious injuries and was flown from the scene by a helicopter to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah.
The passenger, a 57-year-old Kohler woman, suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call reporting the crash in township of Osceola at around 1:45 p.m. July 20. Sheriff’s deputies, Eden Fire Department and First Responders, Campbellsport Ambulance, and Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue paramedics were all dispatched to the crash. Initial reports indicated one of the occupants was unconscious.

The sheriff’s office said investigation and witness statements revealed the motorcycle was traveling north on State 67 when a mechanical issue took place that caused the crash into the guardrail. The mechanical issue is believed to be the only factor in the crash and no citations were issued, the sheriff's office said.
No further details were immediately available Saturday night.
