PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — The Emergency Conflagration Act was invoked invoked once again Saturday night by Governor Tina Kotek, this time for the Tiller Trail Fire in Douglas County. All levels of evacuations have also been issued for the area.

The fire sparked that same day at around 3 p.m. and is currently estimated to be between 3,000 to 5,000 acres in size, according to the Oregon State Fire Marshal.

Resources ‘stretched’ thin amid ongoing wildfires across Oregon

This invocation means that additional resources from around the state – such as fire crews from outside the immediate local area – can be redirected to help fight the blaze.

Level 3 “Go Now” evacuations: All residents on Crume Ranch Road, Devil’s Knob Lane and Joe Hall Road.

Level 2 “Be Set” evacuations: All residents on the east side of Devils Knob to Milepost 31 on Tiller Trail Highway.

Level 1 “Be Ready” evacuations: Residents on the west side of Devil’s Knob and Milepost 31 on Tiller Trail Highway, all residents on Tiller Trail Highway from Milepost 31 to Milepost 34.

For the latest evacuation information, residents are encouraged to follow the Douglas County Sheriff’s page . for the latest evacuation information.

The month of August has historically been one of the more difficult months for wildfires in the state and officials say this year is shaping up to be no different.

“Over the last few days, we saw several fires spark on the west side of the Cascades. The fire danger across Oregon is extremely concerning. We are bringing in the full force of the Oregon Fire Mutual Aid System to help protect homes and critical infrastructure near the Tiller Trail Fire,” said Fire Marshal Mariana Ruiz-Temple. “I am calling on all Oregonians and visitors to do everything they can to prevent sparking another wildfire.”
