    Where to find every splash pad, cooling center in Multnomah County

    PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – Looking to beat the heat? Multnomah County is home to several splash pads, fountains and indoor cooling centers that can help you.

    County officials announced that two cooling centers will open Thursday, Sept. 5 from noon to 9 p.m. These centers are located at Cook Plaza and Portland Covenant Church . It is not yet clear whether the centers will reopen on Friday.

    Multnomah County to open cooling centers as extreme heat arrives Thursday

    On Thursday and Friday, Multnomah County Library will extend its hours at its Central and Gresham locations until 8 p.m. Transition Projects ’ Bud Clark Commons Resource Center will also extend its hours to 6:30 p.m. on these days.

    Multnomah County is also home to nearly 20 splash pads and other outdoor cooling areas such as riverfronts and a public pool. These locations can be found on the county’s interactive map .

    Excessive heat warning issued by National Weather Service for Portland metro

    The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning Wednesday to be in effect from noon Thursday to 10 p.m. Friday. Forecasts show temperatures rise to nearly 100 degrees Thursday and Friday.
