The Blitz kicks off Friday, Jesuit coach nears historic record

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – This Friday marks the onset of Oregon high school football’s first week, which will include a number of elite teams.

After a thrilling 6A title win over Tualatin last season , Central Catholic returns to the field after winning half of the state championships in the last decade. Their fight to defend their title begins Friday at home.

For good reason, the game of the week is Jesuit at Tualatin where a win for the Crusaders will be a big moment for the entire state of Oregon. Jesuit’s head coach is just one victory away from tying the record for the most wins in Oregon football history.

Sherwood, Roosevelt, and Lake Oswego are some other strong teams to keep an eye on as they get ready for season debut this weekend.
