    Suspect sought for attempted kidnapping of Vancouver teen walking to school

    PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – Authorities are searching for an attempted kidnapping suspect after a 14-year-old girl reported the man had tried to take her while she was walking to school Monday morning, Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

    The Heritage High School student reported that the man came out from behind some bushes and tried to grab her while she was walking near the intersection of NE 76th Street and 122nd Avenue shortly before 8:20 a.m.

    Deputies said the teen also reported that the man tried to put “some type of fabric over her face while he held onto her” before she got away and ran several blocks to school. Officials reported that she was uninjured.

    “The suspect was described as a male with light brown skin, approximately 5’9″ tall, with a slender build, black hair, and brown eyes,” according to Clark County deputies. “He was wearing oval-shaped glasses, a black hooded sweatshirt, black cargo pants, a black T-shirt, and a black COVID-style disposable mask.”
