PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – Southeast Portland’s newest food pantry, the Woodstock Pantry, is officially open.

All Saints Episcopal Church in the Woodstock neighborhood celebrated their grand opening at their new location near SE Knight Street and 41st Avenue.

Timeline: Heavy fall rains, t-storms likely around the PNW

The food pantry was originally created in 2020 during the pandemic, though plans to make the pantry permanent have been in the works since 2022.

“During a six month period, we saw the need go up by 102%,” Andria Skornik with the All Saints Church said. “We’re now serving over $1.6 million of food each year, and recently as many as 447 people came to get groceries.”

Before the opening of this location, volunteers would pack bags every month on Fridays and Saturdays to feed 1100 people before the donated food is stored in every space possible inside the church.
