Hawthorne Bridge to undergo closures through weekend

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – If you tend to rely on the Hawthorne Bridge in the evening to overnight hours, you may want to avoid it for the rest of the week.

The bridge was originally set to partially close for repaving and repairs through the whole week, but Multnomah County announced those plans were rescheduled as of Wednesday.

Westbound traffic will be closed from 7 p.m. Wednesday through 5 a.m. Thursday. Eastbound lanes will then close 7 p.m. Thursday and reopen Friday at 11 a.m.

The bridge will also close to all vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians for maintenance on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 6 a.m. It will reopen Sunday, Sept. 15 at 6 p.m.
