    Sweet Home schools closed following threat toward district high school

    Editor’s Note: Sweet Home police said they’ve arrested a juvenile suspect in the investigation surrounding a threat made to Sweet Home High School.

    PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — All schools in Sweet Home School District are closed Thursday and Friday following a threat towards the high school, the district announced.

    In a post on the school district’s Facebook , officials said that they were alerted Wednesday night about a threat towards the high school made by a minor who is not enrolled.

    Authorities said that they are working with police to determine if the threat is credible but as a precaution, they are closing all schools in the district today.

    According to Sweet Home Police, the minor who made the threat has been identified, but they haven’t been located yet.

    “Our main priority is the safety of the community, and we’re doing everything we can to resolve the situation as soon as possible,” said police.

    Information is limited, but officials said they will give updates once more information is available.
