    Suspect in July Northeast Portland fatal shooting arrested

    PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — A man was arrested Wednesday for his alleged involvement in the shooting death of another man in Northeast Portland back in July .

    The night of July 14, officers responded to Northeast 55th Avenue and Hassalo Street where they found 30-year-old Aaron McInnis suffering from life-threatening injuries.

    McInnis was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later declared dead, officials said.

    The Medical Examiner confirmed he died from homicide by gunshot wounds.

    On Wednesday, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested 23-year-old Arvoni Hayes on an outstanding murder warrant.

    He was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a loaded firearm in public.
