    Theft suspect arrested after fleeing Hillsboro police and hiding in boat

    PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — A theft suspect with multiple warrants was arrested after leading officers and a K9 unit on a chase through a Hillsboro neighborhood early Thursday morning.

    Just after 4 a.m., a Hillsboro officer responded to Northeast Azalea Street and 37th Avenue attempting to stop a suspect in a theft in the area.

    The suspect then fled on foot and began jumping backyard fences to escape.

    With the help of a K9 unit from Beaverton police, officers eventually found the suspect hiding in a boat of private property.

    Armed suspect arrested in Astoria, police say

    He was arrested on charges of second-degree theft, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of methamphetamine and second-degree criminal trespassing.

    The suspect also had active arrest warrants for theft, resisting arrest and failing to register as a sex offender.

    No further information, including the suspect’s identity, has been released at this time.

    Great, now hopefully he won’t get bail and will actually be prosecuted and given a lengthy prison sentence 🤬
