Where to find Friday the 13th flash tattoo specials in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Although Friday the 13th is generally known as an unlucky day, tattoo shops typically use it as an excuse to give customers discounts on new ink.

The days of $13 tattoos may be over, but plenty of Portland parlors are still offering other deals.

Birdhouse Tattoo

With two locations, Birdhouse Tattoo will have over a dozen artists participating in flash day. Walk-ins begin at 10 a.m. and designs start at $100, cash only.

Hidden Rose Tattoo

Location: 526 NW 21st Ave, Portland, OR 97209

Hidden Rose’s Friday the 13th event actually runs through Saturday as well. The shop offers ink ranging from $100 to $130, either colored or in black and grey. Some of the available designs feature serpents, skulls and spiders.

Historic Tattoo

Location: 2001 SE 50th Ave, Portland, OR 97215

Starting at 10 a.m., this Richmond neighborhood shop will offer hundreds of tattoos featuring the number “13.” Artists have offered a sneak peek of their designs, which include Betty Boop, birds and some Halloween-inspired creations.

Pink Panther Tattoo Shop

Location: 1001 E Burnside St, Portland, OR 97214

Pink Panther’s flash deal includes colored or black and grey tattoos on arms or legs, starting at $130. The business is only accepting cash payments. Customers can show up as early as 11 a.m. to get added to the list.

Robot Piercing and Tattoo

Location: 602 NW 23rd Ave, Portland, OR 97210

Several artists, including “Ink Master: Angels” season two winner Austin Rose, are offering their own flash designs at Robot Piercing and Tattoo. Appointments will be first, come first serve.

Snail Flower Tattoo

Location: 5515 N Albina Ave, Portland, OR 97217

This “queer-owned” parlor will offer specials from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The designs include animals, plants, spooky motifs and more starting at $75.
