PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — The dream of the 90s is alive because an iconic Portland alternative rock band is back on tour and celebrating over 30 years together.

Everclear is kicking off its fall tour in San Francisco on Friday, featuring supporting acts Marcy Playground and Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, with stops in Oregon on the schedule as well.

After gaining traction in college radio stations and the Portland music scene, Everclear broke through with its major label debut in 1995, becoming a household name soon after.

Since forming in 1992, the quartet led by lead singer and guitarist Art Alexakis, has released 11 studio albums, containing such hits as “Santa Monica,” “Father of Mine,” “I Will Buy You A New Life” and “Everything To Everyone.” They even scored a Grammy nomination in 1998 for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.

For this tour, the band will be offering up a limited edition vinyl release of their platinum-selling 2000 album, “Songs From An American Movie Vol. One,” which includes tracks “Wonderful” and “AM Radio.”

“I am so stoked that after 25 years this album is finally on vinyl,” shared Alexakis. “When this record was originally released on Capitol, it was supposed to be released on vinyl. But vinyl sales were down so much that the label absolutely refused to honor our contract.”

He continued, “I hope fans of this record and vinyl enthusiasts enjoy it as much as I do. A lot of these songs we haven’t played in a while, and in some cases, we’ve never played live before, so we’re also excited to add some of them into the setlist on this tour. We’ll of course be playing all of the hits and fan favorites too. Looking forward to seeing you all out there!”

The over-30 city tour will travel across the U.S. until Nov. 2, making local stops at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland on Sunday and Silver Moon Brewing in Bend on Tuesday.

The Portland show has sold out , but the Bend show still has tickets .
