PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — The Portland Book Festival will bring more than 80 authors and thousands of book lovers to the central city later in the fall.

Literary Arts , the Portland-based arts organization behind the festival and other bookish programming, revealed the lineup for the annual event on Wednesday.

PBF 2024 is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2. Ten different venues throughout the South Park Blocks will host a variety of activities like author discussions, writing workshops and, of course, a book fair.

“Since I joined Literary Arts in 2015, it has been a great joy to witness the community of readers, writers, publishers, teachers, and so many more who come together on a drizzly November Saturday to celebrate books and storytelling in the heart of our city,” the organization’s Senior Artistic Director Amanda Bullock said in a statement.

Most festival events will be included with the $25 general admission ticket .

There is an additional cost for special events, including talks with “Show Up and Vote” author Ani Di Franco and novelist Richard Powers — who will discuss his yet-to-be released, but highly-anticipated book “Playground.”

Attendees can also expect appearances from Portland-raised, New York Times Bestselling Author Renée Watson, and Chef and Writer Kristina Cho.

In addition to the day-long festival, organizers will host “Cover to Cover” throughout the week from Oct. 28 to Nov. 3. The event features additional activities such as comedy shows and interactive book presentations.

“Programming for this year’s Portland Book Festival reflects our commitment to community — and a deep investment in Portland’s shared future,” Literary Arts Executive Director Andrew Proctor said.

The organization is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. It is currently relocating to a new headquarters on 716 SE Grand Ave., which is expected to open this fall.

The nonprofit is also launching a writers residency program in the home of late Portland author Ursula K. Le Guin.
