PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – Mt. Bachelor Resort is reopening on Saturday, Sept. 14, following Level 3 “Go Now” evacuation orders, the resort announced.

On Friday, a spokesperson for the resort said the evacuation notice is in the process of being lifted and the resort will return to normal operations.

“Our team sends a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the firefighters and crews that have been working around the clock to contain the fires and protect our community. Their dedication and hard work are truly commendable,” said Presley Quon, Mt. Bachelor LLC communications & community relations manager.

Roughly 30 lightning fires were burning around the mountain, scorching 10,333 acres as of Friday afternoon.

The resort suspended activities on Sept. 7 and was evacuated because of the encroaching wildfire.
