PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother — better known around the Portland area as The Grotto — turned 100 years old with a Catholic Mass at the venue on Sunday.

This day holds special significance for The Grotto as September 15 is the feast day for Our Lady of Sorrows.

The Grotto on Northeast Skidmore holds daily Masses at noon plus services each Sunday.
