PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Crews battled a large vegetation fire in Portland’s St. John’s neighborhood Monday morning, authorities said.

According to Portland Fire & Rescue, the fire sprung up along the railroad tracks near North Fessenden Street and the blaze is difficult to access.

Reaching the fire was difficult due to the active train tracks in the area being the only access point, requiring crews to wait until the tracks could be cleared.

Authorities said that no structures were threatened by the blaze and by 9:11 a.m. the fire was contained.
