Update 10:30 p.m. 9/27/24: Lakeridge Pacers defeat Wilsonville Wildcats, 34-9.

Portland, Ore. (KOIN) – Headlining this week are two undefeated teams, the 3-0 Lakeridge Pacers and the reigning 5A state champion Wilsonville Wildcats.

The stakes are high as both teams look to hold onto their momentum and establish early-season domination with perfect records.

In the fiercely competitive Three Rivers League, where five of the six teams are placed in the state’s top 10 according to the most recent coaches poll, Lakeridge comes into the game ranked fifth. The Pacers, under the direction of coach Spencer Phillips, are success-driven since his league is full of elite players. The most important thing for them: winning.

Wilsonville, the top-ranked team in 5A, is led by coach Adam Guenther and is coming off a season in which it won the state championship. The Wildcats are still a formidable team even after losing several important players from the previous campaign, most notably their standout quarterback.

There is a lot on the line for both teams—only one can stayed undefeated.
