This Oregon school is in the top 10 college towns in the US, new ranking says

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – A new ranking lists the best college locations across the United States, and while most of the top rankings are on the east coast, one Oregon school made the top 10.

Niche — a school ranking and review website — created their 2025 Best College Locations in America list based on several factors including the location’s nightlife, dining, recreational opportunities, and cultural attractions.

The number one spot on the list was Emmanuel College in Boston, Massachusetts — scoring an overall “C” Niche grade, and an “A+” for location.

Representing the first Pacific Northwest school on the list: Portland State University, which scored the number 10 spot for best college towns.

Portland State University scored an overall “B” Niche grade and an “A+” for location. The school also got an “A” for diversity, and “B” grades for academics, campus, and party scene.

New York University in New York, New York; The New School in New York, New York; Simmons University in Boston; and Boston University round out the top five ranked spots.
