PORTAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — A nearly 10-degree temperature drop comes with cloudier skies and a chance for rain around Portland Tuesday.

A few light morning rain showers will help keep skies mostly cloudy and cool Tuesday. Temperatures are only expected to warm into the low-70s Tuesday afternoon. Rain accumulation will only amount to a couple of drops to a couple of hundredths-of-an-inch by the end of the day Tuesday.

A few lingering showers are possible Wednesday as clouds and cooler temperatures remain. Highs will struggle to even make it to 70 Wednesday as the upper 60s become widespread. Cooler conditions are expected to make it feel more like October as average highs sit around 68-degrees.

A gradual warming trend gets underway later in the week. Highs will return to the 70s with clearing conditions. That will make for another dry and sunny weekend for much of the Pacific Northwest.
