    Pine Fire prompts Level 3 evacuations near Bend as Oregon’s wildfire season rages on

    PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – As the Pine Fire just southeast of Bend continues to grow, officials have ordered a Level 3 “Go Now” evacuation notice for the area.

    The fire was recorded at 2,000 acres — or just over 3 miles — on Monday evening, according to the Oregon Fires and Hotspots Dashboard .

    • Level 3 “Go Now” evacuations: West of Moffitt Road; south of Hwy 20 to Fox Butte Road
    • Level 2 “Be Set” evacuations: South of Hwy 20 west of Fox Butte Road, north of the National Forest, east of Pine Mountain Road; south of Hwy 20 west of Frederick Butte Road, east of Moffitt Road

    Records show the fire first started around 4 p.m. Monday and remains uncontained as of Tuesday morning.

    The Pine Fire is one of 90 active wildfires in the state as the fire season continues during an unseasonably warm October .

    This year marked the state’s largest wildfire season since 2020 .
