    Salem Police: Springfield man charged with DUII after head-on crash kills 2

    PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – A Springfield man involved in a Salem crash that killed two people and injured several others in mid-September was arrested by police Wednesday, according to authorities.

    Terrance Harley Quackenbush-Benson, 29, had been driving a truck southbound on Cordon Road SE when he crossed the center line and struck a pick-up truck head-on, officials said.

    When police arrived just before 10:10 a.m., they found that the driver of the other car, Blanca Franco-Ramos, and passenger Heriberto Rangel-Rangel had died in the collision. Another passenger in her truck remains hospitalized as of Oct. 10.

    A passenger in Quackenbush-Benson’s truck was also injured and treated at Salem Health.

    Officials share new information in Lakeshore area homicide

    Springfield police arrested Quackenbush-Benson on Wednesday and faces the following charges: two counts of first-degree manslaughter, two counts of second-degree assault, driving under the influence, reckless driving, and four counts of reckless endangerment.

    pray for all the families that are dealing with the deaths that occurred all this your man who was drinking and his truck became a murder machine... So I will be keeping everyone in my prayers and thoughts... God bless everyone
