PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and on Thursday you can help survivors and their families by dining out for a good cause.

Several local restaurants are teaming up with Clackamas Women’s Services, donating a portion of their profits to support programs and services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, child and elder abuse and trafficking.

AM Extra was joined by Melissa Erlbaum, executive director of Clackamas Women’s Services, and Lyndsay Dental, cafe manager of LJ’s Cafe, to talk about the event.
